The department offers a comprehensive suite of programs engineered to develop students into highly capable scientist-practitioners within the diverse field of psychology. Rooted in academic excellence, the program provides a supportive environment where students can freely explore, learn, and develop. The curriculum is thoughtfully structured to deliver a well-rounded education, seamlessly blending core theoretical coursework with hands-on skill development and immersive internship opportunities. This dual approach ensures students build a commanding foundation in psychological principles while mastering their real-world applications.
A strong emphasis is placed on scientific inquiry, encouraging students to actively cultivate and refine their research capabilities. Simultaneously, the department is dedicated to advancing the broader field of psychology through its own impactful research initiatives. Beyond the classroom and the lab, community service is a core pillar of the program. By promoting active civic engagement, the department aims to foster socially responsible citizens who understand how to apply psychological insights to meet pressing societal needs.

The School of Psychological Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore Yeshwanthpur Campus, presents a three-day International Conference on Global Practices in Evidence-Based Psychotherapy — immersing professionals in the applied world of clinical practice through research by leading psychotherapists and mental health professionals from across the globe.
Evidence-based psychotherapy is not simply about identifying effective interventions, but about understanding how evidence is interpreted and translated within the complexities of real-world therapeutic practice. This conference provides a forum for critical deliberations on the relationship between research evidence, clinical expertise, therapeutic relationships, and client contexts, while engaging stakeholders in the realities of contemporary psychotherapy.
Facilitate student exposure to therapeutic effectiveness across diverse modalities
Provide an opportunity to interact with industry experts and gain mentoring insights
Encourage critical thinking and evaluation of therapeutic outcomes
Strengthen the integration of theoretical knowledge and applied skills
"What works,
for whom,
in what context,
and perspective?"
A conference focused on contemporary evidence-based psychotherapy and its practices, bridging the gap between research, training, clinical practice, and lived experience. While exploring how research evidence influences and transforms therapeutic practice, the conference deliberates on the evidences understood by stakeholders.
The conference intends to create a platform for contemporary psychotherapies, innovative therapeutic integrative and eclectic models, including digital and technology-assisted interventions, and culturally responsive approaches. Bringing together clinicians, trainers, trainees, and researchers can stimulate meaningful conversation, encourage research-informed practice, and support the translation of contemporary psychotherapy knowledge into comprehensible, accessible, ethical, and effective mental health care.
The conference is open to:
Faculty and scholars from the Psychology, Psychiatric Social Work, and Psychiatry disciplines
Mental health professionals and researchers (Indian and Worldwide)
RCI delegates and trainees, students of RCI courses & licensed RCI professionals
Students presenting research findings may submit abstracts and register upon acceptance.
Note: RCI trainees can apply for CRE points after RCI approval (status will be updated soon)

All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Author names, affiliations, and any identifying information must be removed from the manuscript prior to submission. At ICGP.BYC 2027, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. All authors, reviewers, and editors involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to the following principles:
Authors are expected to present original research that has not been published elsewhere. All data, methods, and findings should be accurately reported, without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation. Authors must properly acknowledge the contributions of others, including citing relevant work. Plagiarism, in any form, is unacceptable and will result in the rejection of the submitted paper. Furthermore, authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their work. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple conferences or journals simultaneously is considered unethical and is strictly prohibited.
Reviewers of the scientific committee play a critical role in the peer review process, and they are expected to provide fair, objective, and constructive feedback on submitted manuscripts. They should evaluate the work based on its intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts they review and must not use information obtained during the peer review process for personal gain. Any potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed to the editorial board, and reviewers should recuse themselves from the review process if they feel unable to provide an impartial evaluation.
The editorial board is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the publication process. They should make decisions on submissions based solely on the academic merit of the work and its relevance to the conference’s scope. The editorial board must ensure that the review process is conducted fairly, confidentially, and without bias. They are also responsible for identifying and addressing any ethical issues that may arise, such as suspected plagiarism, data manipulation, or conflicts of interest. The board is committed to maintaining transparency throughout the publication process and will take appropriate action in cases of malpractice, which may include rejecting manuscripts, issuing retractions, or reporting misconduct to the authors' institutions.
ICGP.BYC 2027 takes ethical misconduct seriously and has established procedures to address such issues. If unethical behavior is suspected, the editorial board will investigate the matter thoroughly. If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken, which may include the rejection of the manuscript, notify the authors’ institutions, and ban the authors from future participation in the conference. All investigations and actions will be conducted in accordance with the principles of fairness, confidentiality, and transparency.
To maintain the integrity of the conference proceedings, all submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using specialized detection software at Christ University. Manuscripts found to have a similarity index exceeding 10% will be scrutinized, and authors may be asked to revise or provide explanations for the overlaps. Instances of confirmed plagiarism will lead to the rejection of the manuscript and may result in further disciplinary actions.
Each submitted manuscript will receive a unique paper id. The manuscripts will be initially screened to check for the conference scope, plagiarism, and originality. All the submitted manuscripts will be sent for technical peer review process, and the corresponding author will be notified of the outcome of the review process. ICGP.BYC 2027 adopts a Double blind peer review process. If reviewers recommended further improvements in the manuscript, the manuscript will be sent back to the corresponding author, and the revised version of the manuscript shall be re-submitted to the reviewers. The final decision on the manuscript will be announced after the third round of evaluation by the conference committee.
All accepted and presented papers will be published in Conference Proceedings.
